This research report examined 10 case studies to explore cross-sector partnerships in education, employment and training pathways for at risk young people. It identifies common features, success factors and barriers as well as outlining further opportunities for cross-sector partnerships. Common features of the programs included: not-for-profits as keystones; business involvement as philanthropists, sponsors, and partners; limited direct government involvement; a predominantly universal approach rather than one focused particularly on disadvantaged young people; and a mix of school, alternative pathways and training delivery with little direct employment.
